Swim Safety - PCMO  

Swim and Safety Program sponsored by Autism Society-The Heartland and YMCA of Greater Kansas City

The Autism Society- The Heartland and the YMCA of Greater Kansas City have partnered together to support the Autism Community in the efforts to teach swimming and water safety along with providing the tools to caregivers on home and community safety awareness.

The following locations will be providing swim and water safety lesson for 6 weeks, 1 day a week for 45 min. ALL LEVELS and AGES of individuals on the Autism Spectrum can participate.If you have already participated in 2 sessions of lessons, please contact Jennifer before scheduling.
To register you must sign up through the website to be a member of just the website and then you can register for the swim program. It only takes a few moments.

*Caregivers may be involved in assisting in the water.

Registration is a flat fee of $20 per child.

Individuals participating in the Swim & Safety Program must have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or in the process of being diagnosed. We will take into affect the process of learning based on the individuals skill level and participation. The goal and mission of this program is to provide the tools for water safety for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and provide safety lessons in wandering and home safety in and around your community.
 

Times and Locations:

*Note if your loved one has already gone through 2 or more sessions of the Swim and Safety Program with the Autism Society-The Heartland, please contact Jennifer before registering. Please understand we are trying to register families and individuals that might have not been able to attend the program in the past. The Platte Co North YMCA is also providing classes for those that have accomplished 2 more more sessions to continue the individuals skills- Thank you for understanding.

 

Platte County Community Center North

Fridays 1x per week for 6 weeks

3101 Running Horse Road, Platte City, Missouri

June 6 thru July 18 (No Lesson July 4th) 5:30pm to 6:15pm

* Not all YMCA's are participating at this time- we will be adding more YMCA's to the program
