Autism Society - The Heartland

As with many organizations, the Autism Society of America - Heartland needs volunteers to help at many of our events. You will find that by helping with our kids you will have a warm feeling in your heart and will enjoy the experience. Please consider helping us in our mission of improving the lives of all affected by autism. We have the following opportunities for you:

• Child Care at General Meetings – We meet the 4th Thursday of every month at the Legacy Christian Church at 10150 Antioch Rd, Overland Park, KS., 66212.  So that our parents can attend we provide child care. If you would like to help please contact us by going to the “Contact Us” tab.
• Family and Children Events – During the year we have several functions for our families. These can be picnics, day trips, fund raisers, birthday parties, special showings at theaters, swim days …all sorts of activities.

At these activities we like for our families to just show up, relax and enjoy. This way they can watch their children and not be stressed about all the preparation and clean-up. Our friends and volunteers have helped with the setting up, cooking, some supervising of the children and cleaning up afterwards. We have a good time doing all this and it is enjoyable.
