Members Day at the KC Zoo  

Autism Society-The Heartland's Member Day at the Zoo for Members and their family is Sunday, October 9th from 9:30 - 5:00. This will be Hoots N Howls weekend, which means there will be activities and entertainment for the kids, including face painting, hay bale maze, hay rides, pedal tractors and costumed characters. Among all the wonderful activities, the Koalas will still be there!!

This is a members only event, but we make it easy if you are not a member or need to renew your membership. Just renew or register for membership here. Membership is just $30 for the whole family. You must register for the event, if you are not a current member we will send you a friendly reminder and a link to join.
This is a private only event for our families and individuals with autism. Ages 0 to 88 are welcome! This is a time for everyone to feel comfortable about going to the zoo and have a family outing.
Please register today- This is a RSVP event only- There is a registration fee of $2 per ticket (includes processing fee) AND each member of the family will be required to wear an Autism Society shirt. Not only does this help create Autism Awareness and Acceptance, but it also helps the Zoo staff identify who is with our group. You can wear any Autism Society shirt (Walk shirts, logo shirts, yellow volunteer shirts, Just Be You colorful shirt). In order to receive a ticket, you will need to have a shirt on at the registration table. This includes all members of the family receiving a ticket. If you do not have a shirt, we will have them available to purchase at registration. Please do not wait to purchase a shirt until day of, as sizes are not guaranteed unless you pay for them at registration. We will have walk shirts available for $5 and Just Be You for $10. This includes children as well. Children sizes are $5 for our Just Be You shirts and our walk shirts. Tickets will not be given out at the Zoo to those who are not identifiable as an ASH family.
ASH will have a table at the entrance of the Zoo to pick up your tickets from 9:00 am - 12 pm. Please DO NOT go to the Zoo ticket counter, as they will not have your tickets. 
Food Options: We will NOT be serving food, however the Zoo does have plenty of food options throughout the property. The Tuxedo Grill has a few gluten free options upon request.
