Autism Society - The Heartland (ASH)

Thank you for visiting our site! We welcome you!

If you are looking for others who are traveling the same path as you, or for an opportunity to change the lives of others by sharing your time and talent, or if you are just looking for a place to learn more about autism ... you've found it! Please consider this website your personal key to unlocking the door to the challenging, but rewarding world of autism. We encourage you to sign up for our e-newsletter, volunteer, attend our fundraising events, and LIKE our Facebook page

Autism Society-The Heartland (ASH) is the state affiliate of Autism Society of America for Kansas and Missouri. At ASH we are focusing on the whole person and the family. We are creating opportunities for training, self-advocacy, and support. In 2021 we plan to add more to our services for all ages and abilities. We will continue our A.W.A.R.E. activities, the "Just Like You-Autism" Film promotion, and Support Groups, as well as continuing to collaborate with area service providers.

Autism Society - The Heartland is a professional organization that uses person-first language throughout this website, and in all professional correspondence and advertising. However, Autism Society - The Heartland also recognizes many individuals prefer identity-first language and will always defer to an individual’s preference when requested in personal correspondence.

Honors Received:

Autism Society-The Heartland received the 2015 Affiliate of the Year Award from the National Autism Society.

Autism Society-The Heartland received a 2015 Regional Midwest EMMY Award for the "Just Like You Autism" Film.
