Volunteer

As with many organizations, the Autism Society - The Heartland needs volunteers to help at many of our events. You will find that by helping with our community you will have a warm feeling in your heart and will enjoy the experience. Please consider helping us in our mission of improving the lives of all affected by autism by completing the volunteer form at the bottom of this page. If you would like to be involved in your community helping great families affected by autism, please consider joining us for these wonderful activities:

• Events - Join one of our fundraisers to help us create and run a successful event. Our 5th annual 5K/1K Fun Run is now accepting volunteer sign-ups for our April 30th event at Worlds of Fun! Sign-up to volunteer here and receive a FREE t-shirt! Please see our Calendar of Events for an upcoming fundraising event to sign-up to volunteer, or complete the form below!

• Office - Would you like to get out of the house for a few hours? We have opportunities in our office for special projects that mainly involve organizational help. Complete the form below, give us a call, or send an email to ashofficeasst@gmail.com to help with special office projects.

• Family and Children Events – During the year we have several functions for our and their families. These can be game nights, social groups, sensory-friendly events, special showings at theaters, swim days … all sorts of activities! If you are interested in volunteering or facilitating any of these activities, please complete the form below or email info@asaheartland.org.
  

• Support Group Leads - Most often, the value of raising a child with autism can be shared with those who are newly diagnosed and strong connections of support can develop between families in similar circumstances. If you are in this position or feel you have expert knowledge to share, and would like to facilitate a monthly support group, let us know by completing the form below or emailing info@asaheartland.org. 

• Board of Directors - While our Board of Directors is presently fully constituted, we are always looking for dynamic leaders that can assist us in our programming, fundraising and administrative efforts.  If you are interested in being considered as a Board of Directors candidate, please fill out the volunteer form below and include any previous Board of Directors experience, fundraising history or positions of relevant leadership that you believe would bring value to our organization.  Thanks very much for your interest!
