Exists to improve the lives of all affected by autism by increasing public awareness, advocating for appropriate services, and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education, research and advocacy. They maintain a comprehensive resource database for autism-related services and supports, which are searchable by state, county, city, and zip code. Autism Society - The Heartland is a local chapter of the national Autism Society organization. 
The Special Needs Planning Center  
A comprehensive planning service that assists families with planning for your loved one with special needs in the areas of financial, benefit protection and application, continuity of care, and transition planning.

Missouri Division of Developmental Disabilities - Kansas City Regional Center  http://dmh.mo.gov/kcro/
Serves individuals with developmental disabilities such as cognitive disabilities, cerebral palsy, head injuries, autism, epilepsy, and certain learning disabilities. Kansas City Regional Office is the primary point of entry for the following counties: Platte, Clay, Ray, Jackson, Lafayette, Cass, Johnson, and Bates. Kansas City does not provide paid services. However, regional offices purchase services from contracted agencies licensed by the Department of Mental Health or other national accrediting agencies.
